EXPERIENCE: My only field of legal practice, is representing clients at the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS), for formal and informal administrative hearings, for reinstatement of driving privileges. I interact almost daily with hearing officers and other ILSOS personnel.
THE PURPOSE OF A HEARING: ILSOS determines if you are an acceptable risk to be allowed to drive on public roads. Public safety takes priority over any hardship that you may be experiencing due to a revoked or suspended driver's license.
ADVANTAGES OF REPRESENTATION: ILSOS hearings follow the procedure of administrative law. The State of Illinois is represented by Hearing Officers and State's Attorneys. An experienced attorney will guide you through the process, make sure that you meet all procedural requirements, and will usually conduct the initial questioning at the hearing.
COST OF REPRESENTATION: My mission is to keep fees as affordable and transparent as possible. Each client case has their own unique circumstances, and therefore time requirements and fees can vary. I can say confidently, that most of my clients are surprised how much value they receive for the fees charged.
FORMAL HEARINGS: A formal hearing is required for a driver whose privileges have been suspended or revoked for an offense(s) involving a fatality or multiple DUI dispositions.
INFORMAL HEARINGS: An informal hearing is required for a driver whose privileges have been suspended or revoked for an offense(s) not involving a fatality, a single DUI disposition or for sanctions related to lesser moving violations. An informal hearing is conducted by an informal hearing officer at select Driver Services facilities. Informal hearings are held on a walk-in basis, no appointment is necessary.
